As a healthcare professional, you might have an amazing skill set and tremendous abilities, but how are your interviewing skills?
We’ve put together the following tips to help you nail your interview as you become an Avant healthcare professional in the United States.
You should focus on your professional career and not include too much personal information. They are looking to employ you as a healthcare professional and this interview is your shot at showing them why they should offer you the job. This is where you should use your medical terminology, equipment used and past experience to really shine.
Dream about what you are really longing to do with your career? It should challenge you but also provide you with opportunities to grow. So don’t play it safe!
It is always important to have at least one question to ask at the end of the interview, even if you feel the person conducting the interview has answered everything. Prepare three questions before the interview and have them in front of you, this will show good preparation on your part. It is a chance for you to get the information you need to help you make an informed decision about the position.
“Tell us about yourself.”
This is perhaps the most dreaded of all interview questions, your mind goes blank and you can’t think of anything about yourself except, “I am a nurse,” or “I am a therapist.” To avoid this happening, we recommend you prepare for this question before your interview by listing five strengths you have. Ask yourself: What do I want the interviewer to know/remember about me when the call is over?
Many of the interviews conducted at Avant are via phone. However, a smile can be heard! If you aren’t very animated, you may come across flat, monotone and even boring during the interview. Smile and be energetic. Let them know you’re full of life!
