Summary of Position Role/Responsibilities

The marketing manager is responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing plans for lines of business and brands within the organization in order to attract potential customers and retain existing ones.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Oversees, develops and implements plans and tactics across all social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) to cover key annual events in addition to any other identified opportunities 
  • Monitors and tracks all social media initiatives and tactics implemented by the organization and develops reports on findings and trends
  • Executes company’s day-to-day social media activities, including posting and updating all platforms
  • Attends PR and social media events as needed
  • Helps curate the social media editorial calendar while also responsible for developing and creating content
  • Directly engages with social media followers to promote conversations while developing and maintaining relationships 
  • Collaborates with sales and PR team members in addition to any outside vendors as needed
  • Develops and upholds relationships with key social media influencers: youtubers, active twitter users, etc.
  • Maintains an updated list of prominent social media influencers across multiple categories
  • Reports on social media program results and noteworthy trending topics within the online community
  • Writes and designs company brochures, flyers, newsletters, and PR material
  • Creates and sends out press releases to media outlets
  • Authors White Papers and case studies, as needed
  • Seeks out new and innovative opportunities to promote the company in the US and Internationally
  • Investigates and exploits new media scope opportunities (print, events, online)
  • Develops, writes, and maintains internal communication systems to ensure that they are current, dynamic and relevant (corporate website, intranet, newsletters, emails, presentations, corporate announcements)
  • Creates, maintains, and strengthens Avant’s overall brand in all forms of media and platforms
  • Analyses web analytics on an ongoing basis and generates reports regarding site traffic
  • Ability to confidently advise product teams about potential markets, desirable product features, go-to-market best practices, and measuring the success of outreach and product sales
  • Assists with the screening and selection process of new vendors, as needed

Normal Work Schedule

  • This is a full-time exempt position. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. May be required to work outside of standard business hours to meet clients’ needs

Education, Training and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a related field required
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience working in a marketing / internet advertising role 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Track record of innovation and creative thinking
  • Experience with Hubspot and CRM’s
  • Ability to lead in an environment of constant change
  • Familiarity and skill with the tools of the trade in marketing including PR, written communication, website development, market research, product packaging, Microsoft software suite of products, visual communication software, graphic design and creative services
  • Experience managing external PR and communication consulting firms and contractors
  • Experience in the global marketplace is a plus

    • Must understand and follow a set of clear oral and/or written procedures without deviation
    • Must adhere to a provided work schedule to meet a set of qualitative production standards
    • Must relay information orally
  • Work Environment:
    • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely operates standard office equipment. 


  • Internal: Daily contact with professional staff members, and contracted field staff.
  • External: Regular contact with clients and vendors.
