Summary of Position Role/Responsibilities

As a key member of the HR team supporting Avant’s recruitment and selection functions, the Director of Talent Acquisition acts as a subject matter expert (SME) in the recruitment of new corporate staff. The Director of Talent Acquisition works in conjunction with the Corporate HR Manager and team to document and oversee workflows for staffing-related activities. As a strategist, consultant and implementer, you develop and deploy solutions to enable the business, and advise on a wide range of both strategic and day-to-day talent acquisition matters.  The Director of Talent Acquisition also researches, analyzes and resolves staffing-related issues on behalf of the company. The Director of Talent Acquisition is responsible for staying up to date on applicable legal and regulatory changes, updates to internal policy and processes, and new system functionality.

Essential Functions of The Job 

  • Act as a talent strategist by researching, updating and constantly improving the talent acquisition strategy using data analytics, industry standards and business input
  • Lead, oversee and supervise members of the corporate recruitment team by using recruiting industry best practice to ensure the function is performing at required levels
  • Design, plan and execute employer branding activities by working closely with the corporate marketing team
  • Manage and education hiring managers about the selection process (screening calls, interviews, assessments, offers, etc.) to ensure compliance and an excellent candidate experience 
  • Administer the job description database and ensure all are being kept up to date while following regulatory requirements
  • Suggest and execute measures for improving employee retention 
  • Establish trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders to foster trusting partnerships with our hiring managers and build client satisfaction
  • Partner with finance to understand and prepare the forecast for hiring needs
  • Collaborate on and develop leadership pipelines and talent pools to address critical capabilities and talent strategies for critical roles
  • Implement efforts to drive exceptional candidate and hiring manager experiences before, during and after the interview process
  • Track, analyze, and utilize key talent metrics and headcount reporting to support current and future hiring needs
  • Ensure all HRIS internal tools are kept up to date and improve process as needed to meet compliance standards
  • Manage the employee referral program
  • Ensure all hires are a perfect fit to Avant’s culture, values and mission
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure constant communicate about hiring needs
  • Collaborate with the Corporate HR team to ensure the transition from the recruitment process to the onboarding is smooth for an excellent candidate experience
  • Responsible for recruiting for a minimum number of critical or high-level requisitions
  • Organize and attend recruitment events, including but not limited to college fairs, etc. 
  • Determine and present recruiting KPI reports on a regular basis as needed

Normal Work Schedule

This is a full-time position; core hours of work & days are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

Education, Training, And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or other related field required
  • 7+ years’ experience in Talent Acquisition required 
  • Minimum of 3+ years of providing direct supervision
  • Ability to lead in a complex, fast-paced structure with high tolerance for ambiguity and change
  • Mastery in strategic skills such as the ability to influence, negotiate and ability to drive engagement of recruitment concepts and service development
  • Strong business acumen, including experience managing cost, forecasting, managing a budget, invoicing and use of metrics to drive change and decision making to maximize TA delivery
  • A track record of results, with strong problem-solving and change management skills, and accountability in a highly-matrixed organization
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage the needs across all stakeholders
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills and strong executive presence
  • Detailed knowledge of end to end Talent Acquisition processes across experienced, executive and student hiring (from planning, attraction, selection to offer and onboarding)
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) & Adobe knowledge required

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Other Specific Requirements of Law

  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification or the ability to obtain
