Summary of Position Role/Responsibilities

The Clinical Assessment Manager (CAM) will be responsible to complete clinical assessments for international Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) at the recruitment (pre-contract stage) and placement stage of the process while making professional recommendations to ensure the best placement match for each HCP. The CAM will also be responsible for creating and developing clinical based scenario questions and tools to assess HCPs against US standards while identifying any concerns or deficiencies in their skills and experience. The CAM will finalize the clinical portion of the HCP resume prior to submission to the client and conduct practice interviews to prepare HCPs for client interviews. The CAM may also attend new client calls and complete clinical unit assessment calls to assist in understanding client needs. 

Essential Functions of The Job 

  • Clinically screen and assess international nurses for the Avant Healthcare program via phone, skype or in person 
  • Ensure completion of at least of 4-6 assessments and 4 practice interviews per day  
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate the HCP’s professional nursing experience, skills and experience based on their resume and the RN’s specialty to ensure the candidates meet US standard requirements 
  • Responsible to identify any deficiencies or concerns that would prevent Avant from offering the RN a place on the Avant program or raise concerns about their ability to be successful on assignment with Avant in the USA 
  • Complete a clinical assessment of the RN following the recruitment pre-screen process and following the passing of the NCLEX-RN examination in preparation for Client Services to submit the RN to clients and to ensure the best possible match that will provide a successful assignment outcome 
  • Ensure the Avant formatted resume and the Avant Recruitment Management questionnaire reflect accurate experience and skills to allow Client Services to submit RN for consideration to clients
  • Assist in building a database of expected clinical skills by country, facility and units, and qualifications
  • Create and develop clinical based scenario questions and tools to comprehensively assess HCP’s against US standards and to effectively identify any concerns or deficiencies in their skills and experience
  • Track and maintain communication with the Client Services team during assessment processes and ensure Avant database (ABMS) is updated to accurately reflect assessments 
  • Track and document specific concerns highlighted during the assessment process by RN, hospital, country, and qualification. Information will be communicated to relevant departments to assist in the overall screening and selection criteria as well as to identify potential skills or information that would need to be added to Avant’s Pre-arrival and CTP programs. 
  • Conduct practice interviews with HCP’s prior to their Avant client interview
  • May be required to conduct preparatory online webinars on various interview guidelines and scenarios 
  • Complete clinical unit assessment calls with clients and attend new client webinars 
  • Additional involvement to provide clinical support to Client Services and other departments as directed and required.

Education, Training, And Experience

  • BSN required 
  • 5+ years of current experience as a Registered Nurse in a variety of acute care clinical settings
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Other Specific Requirements of Law

  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification
  • Valid, clear and unrestrictive Nursing License for the State of Florida

Work Environment:
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely operates standard office equipment. 

Communication 

  • Internal: Daily contact with professional staff members, and contracted field staff.
  • External: Regular contact with vendors.
