Summary of Position Role/Responsibilities

The Clinical Development Manger provides educational support to those Health Care Professionals (HCPs) in the Clinical Transitions Program (CTP), CARE & or on assignment who have been identified with educational/patient safety concerns. The Clinical Development Manager also coordinates nursing efforts to ensure that effective patient care is being provided and that quality standards are met by our At-Risk HCPs. This role serves to support & be able to transition between Clinical Education & Clinical Nurse Manager Team, when HCP needs, or concerns are identified.

Essential Functions of The Job

  • Provide didactic and hands on training for healthcare professionals in the CTP program
  • Partner with Clinical Nurse Educators and assist with the creation of Coaching Plans for HCPs in the CTP Program by using SMART goals
  • Partner with Clinical Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Managers to provide timely follow up and feedback on the HCP with a Coaching Plan to ensure outlined goals are being met or until Coaching Plan is closed
  • Develop the CARE program content and schedules and communicate with all the clinical team on needs and availability to provide clinical training to HCPs
  • Participate in CARE program huddle discussions with Clinical Leadership Team to determine duration of CARE length based on client concerns
  • Direct and participate in HCP assessment activities in CARE program to determine individual requirements and overall program needs
  • Coordinate & conduct CARE return assessments to determine goals and objectives for CARE program
  • Perform weekly evaluations for the HCPs in CARE program to determine if goals are being met, and asses if additional training is needed
  • Develop the HCP capabilities to their fullest extent through effective feedback and coaching while in CARE
  • Partner with Clinical Nurse Managers to develop detailed Performance Management Plans (PMP) for HCPs on assignment, including SMART goals that focus on developing the HCPs work performance and critical reasoning
  • Communicate with Clinical Nurse Managers who have an HCP on a coaching plan or PMP due to having nursing skill deficit to re-evaluate needs for Plan.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Managers when an HCP has a discovered knowledge deficit to determine best course of action to remediate & educate.
  • Provide remote resources such as Case Studies, Learn Upon Modules, Role Playing or vSim to engage the HCP in active learning to further enhance clinical skills & reasoning, by utilizing Evidence Based Practices
  • Serve as a resource person, to clinical educators, clinical nurse managers, HCPs, and Avant’s business clients, in the provision of HCP Performance Management Plans
  • Provide oversight to the daily operations of the program
  • Assess HCPs for safe and effective nursing practice in general and specialty nursing areas
  • Plan and coordinate staffing needs to meet current and future training demands
  • Evaluate, coach, and remediate HCPs as needed
  • Evaluate, refine, and develop core and specialty curriculums in line with a theoretical model
  • Assess clinical outcomes resulting from the CARE program and adjust curriculum to optimize outcomes

Normal Work Schedule

This is a full-time position, and core hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This employee may work more than 40 hours weekly to fulfill the duties of the position.

Education, Training, And Experience

  • BSN required; Master's Degree in Nursing, Nursing Education, or Healthcare preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical nursing experience required
  • Proven ability to lead and direct employees as well as develop workflow process to generate results
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work in a team environment
  • Proven ability to work through complex problems and influence outcomes where there is no direct line authority

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Other Specific Requirements of Law

  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse License

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely operates standard office equipment along with clinical patient care equipment
