Summary of Position Role/Responsibilities

The Finance Systems Analyst II will serve as the project team liaison for communications between internal departments and the Payroll team. This role will be responsible for creating workflows for internal WFM system, resolving any escalated issues, proposing, and developing effective payroll solutions. The Finance Systems Analyst II will research, design, document, improve current processes within all the department’s functional areas, and maintain payroll integrations. This role will also train and mentor less senior or newly hired Payroll Systems Analysts on the team.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Create and design workflows of business processes within the company’s internal WFM system
  • Work closely with the Director, Payroll to develop and maintain project communication and updates for projects and programs
  • Maintain and keep up to date project management tools template to ensure all project deadlines are being met
  • Support and collaborate with the Finance Systems Analyst team and other internal departments in resolving complex or escalated issues by researching information and proposing/developing effective solutions
  • Develop and recommend changes in methods to improve specifically the effectiveness of system capabilities as required by the Director of Payroll.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of newly hired and/or less senior Finance Systems Analysts on the team
  • Build Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new or changed Payroll applications as needed and offer training/technical guidance to the Payroll Systems team
  • Work on and complete assigned IT service tickets
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure compliance with operational and regulatory requirements through the review, testing and implementation of upgrades, or enhancements
  • Facilitate the generation and maintenance of reporting for the WFM system as needed and improve data collection procedures
  • Provide ongoing assistance with the configuration of the core WFM system ensuring appropriate functional arrangement
  • Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot payroll system application errors and data problems to ensure proper end user functionality
  • Develop in-house systems or work with external vendors, as needed
  • Partner with internal subject matter experts to review procedures and processes and provide recommendations to streamline processes while complying with company policies and governmental regulations
  • Act as a back up to the Finance Systems Analyst I to coordinate with external clients on system configuration
  • Offer training and technical guidance to other team members, where appropriate

Normal Work Schedule

This is a full-time position. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additional time outside of these hours may be needed to complete the essential functions of the job.

Education, Training, and Experience

  • Associate’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in working with Human Resources Information Technology configuration and data reporting required
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation preferred
  • Experience working with complex process workflows and databases, and multi-platform payroll systems (Kronos WFD (HCM/WFM/TA, ADP, Workday, Ulti-Pro) and QuickBase experience preferred
  • Understanding of IT/HRIS Data Privacy and security administration, with high degree of integrity in dealing with sensitive information
  • Understanding of business process redesign principles, tools and techniques, and project management methodologies
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to multitask multiple priorities simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Proficient MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), Adobe, and other databases

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Other Specific Requirements of Law

  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification and ability to obtain and maintain
