Summary of Position Role/Responsibilities

The Placement Licensure Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of activities related to the Placement Licensure team. This role oversees processes to include but not limited to; placement licensure applications including endorsement, exams, active renewal licensing, annual license review, Joint Commission audits, and fingerprinting for all service lines. This role will also be responsible for management of the team to ensure timelines are met consistently in a timely, efficient, and effective manner to meet key performance indicators and critical numbers. The Placement Licensure Manager will ensure that all active Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) on assignment have appropriate licensure to work at the client facility throughout the contract. 

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Supervise the Placement Licensure team, including involvement in interviewing, hiring, and training department staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising and managing performance; and addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Oversee and coordinate the Placement Licensure team for processing all licensure applications needed for HCPs to obtain and maintain the required licensure to work on the assignment which may include but not be limited to, endorsement/exam licensure applications as needed to avoid delays in facility start date, compact/multi-state licenses, fingerprinting processes, IELTS/TOEFL as required by State Board, and any other Placement Licensure-related matter
  • Oversee all licenses are properly maintained per Joint Commission requirements
  • Handle escalated or high-priority issues related to the licensing process, offering effective and impactful solutions to deliver to the team
  • Analyze the department’s operations to pinpoint opportunities and areas of improvement
  • Evaluate department output, key metrics, and reporting to provide feedback timely to AVP of Licensure and Credentialing and SVP of Operations as needed
  • Build relationships with licensing boards and third-party agencies to ensure compliance of all requirements as efficiently as possible
  • Determine ways to streamline processes and meet the needs of State Boards and third-party agencies, maintain required timelines necessary to meet key metrics
  • Review, recommend and update processing guidelines and policies as needed in response to State Board changes
  • Research, analyze and remain current on issues that can affect licensing for HCPs
  • Communicate relevant required updated information to other departments to ensure a smooth transition for HCPs
  • Lead and/or participate in meetings with team and other departments as necessary
  • Ensure staff attendance is accurate and approved weekly in HRIS system

Marginal Functions of the Job

  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the department
  • Other duties as assigned

Normal Work Schedule

This is a full-time position. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additional time outside of these hours may be needed to complete the essential functions of the job.

Education, Training, and Experience

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5-6 years in credentialing, application processing, and/or licensure related experience and/or training
  • Minimum of 1- 2 years of experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct supervision
  • Prior experience working with state licensing boards preferred
  • Ability to lead and direct employees as well as develop workflow and process to generate results
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and collaboration skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Adobe, and electronic database management

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Other Specific Requirements of Law

  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification and ability to obtain and maintain
