Avant Healthcare Professionals Senior Vice President of Operations Named to the Board of the American Association of International Healthcare Recruitment (AAIHR)

ORLANDO, Fla. (August 03, 2021) — Avant Healthcare Professionals today announced that Senior Vice President of Operations, Lesley Hamilton-Powers, will be joining the American Association of International Healthcare Recruitment (AAIHR) as a board member. In this role, she will assist the board with international healthcare recruitment industry initiatives. Avant Healthcare Professionals is a founding member of the AAIHR.

Powers joined Avant Healthcare Professionals in 2006, bringing extensive international recruitment experience to the company. She is one of the most tenured executives in the industry with more than 25 years of experience in international healthcare staffing. Her nursing career began in 1989 when she graduated from nursing school in New Zealand and worked in oncology, and her experience as a Registered Nurse spans several countries, including the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and the United States. Powers has a passion for U.S. recruitment, in particular, based on her own nursing experience working in the country.

“Joining the AAIHR board is an exciting opportunity to leverage my international nursing experience and be part of this committed team,” Powers said. “I am eager to be involved in coming up with solutions to address the U.S. nursing shortage and other issues affecting international healthcare professionals.”

Powers’ experience as a nurse in multiple countries provides her with a unique and valuable perspective on Avant Healthcare Professionals’ industry-leading recruitment and clinical programs. Prior to her current role, she was instrumental in building the worldwide recruitment platform for Assignment America, a division of Cross Country TravCorps. She later joined Geneva Health International in New Zealand, where she led the recruitment efforts for healthcare professionals seeking international placement.
